Cell Phone Spam
At 8:20 this morning, someone sent me a text message. When I read it, I saw that I had gotten spam. titanwxe@agferrari.com wants me to buy small cap stocks in precious metals. I don't know how to block this.
I just got my first one, and just about hit the roof. "SpecialPricesFriendlySupportHealthAllProductsDrugstore" followed by their web address. At least they could have included spaces. Anyway I have Verizon as well... when I tried to block text messages before (no way I am PAYING for something so annoying), the customer service rep told me that is impossible to be done for cell phones. Yet I just spoke to a friend who has Verizon who said they blocked internet derived text messages and haven't had a problem. I think you have to talk to a few different people to get the whole truth..
I know what you mean. I have prepaid wireless service, so I pay for all spam text messatges, wrong numbers, and those telemarketing calls I get in Spanish. Fortunately, I don't get too many and can keep my cell phone use below 100 minutes per year.
Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI have Verizon. They told me it is illegal to send, but the only way to block is to block all text messages.
